A Workshop Rooted in Patience

Horologia was founded on the belief that a watch is more than a mechanism — it is an object of intention, worthy of considered care.

Our Story

From a Single Bench in Bangsar

Horologia opened its doors in 2011 from a modest workshop on Jalan Maarof. The founding watchmaker, trained in Switzerland and later in Penang under a master horologist, had one intention: to offer Kuala Lumpur a workshop where watches were treated with the same seriousness their makers intended.

Over the years, the workshop has quietly built a reputation among collectors, families with heirloom pieces, and everyday owners who simply want honest advice and careful hands. We have never expanded beyond what we can do well. The workbench remains the centre of everything.

Today, Horologia serves clients across the Klang Valley and, for our restoration service, from further afield. Our approach has not changed: listen carefully, assess thoroughly, and work slowly enough to do it properly.

Our Values

Honesty Before Anything

We will always tell you what a watch needs — and what it does not. We do not recommend work that isn't warranted.

Craft Over Speed

Quality work takes the time it takes. We do not rush a movement overhaul or a restoration.

Respect for Originality

We preserve what is preservable. Replacing components unnecessarily is never our first instinct.

Open Communication

You will always know the status of your watch. We welcome questions — even mid-service.

Standards We Hold

How We Work

Every aspect of our process is shaped by a commitment to doing things properly — from the initial assessment to the final timing check.

Written Condition Assessment

Every watch entering the workshop receives a documented assessment before any work is agreed. You decide on the scope with full information in hand.

Movement Timing & Regulation

After assembly, every mechanical movement is timed across six positions and regulated to within acceptable tolerances for its calibre.

Water Resistance Verification

Where applicable, cases are pressure-tested after resealing to confirm the gaskets are performing correctly before the watch is returned.

Secure Storage Throughout

Watches in our care are held in a locked, climate-controlled environment when not actively on the bench. We take custody of your property seriously.

Service Record Issued

Each completed service comes with a brief written record of work performed — useful for provenance and for future servicing reference.

Client Data Privacy

Information shared with us is used solely in the context of your service enquiry. We do not share client data with third parties.

Horologia — Watchmaking Knowledge, Applied With Care

The Klang Valley has no shortage of watch shops. What is less common is a workshop where the person you speak to is the person who opens the case. At Horologia, the watchmaker is present from first enquiry to final handover — there is no chain of middlemen between the owner and the bench.

Our focus is mechanical and quartz movements from respected manufacturers. We do not service fashion watches or offer screen repairs. This intentional scope allows us to develop deep familiarity with the calibres we work on, rather than offering a thin layer of competence across everything.

A watch that has been well-serviced performs better, lasts longer, and holds more of what its maker intended. That is what we work toward — not simply fixing what is broken, but understanding the object as a whole and returning it to the condition it deserves.
